With a background in mentorship, direct caregiving, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation, I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling with an emphasis on nurturing and self-exploration. I provide Individual and Family Counseling to all ages with a focus on trauma, pre-and-post adoption, anxiety, and more. Together, we will increase awareness and growth. I am a part of the PBS TF-CBT Collaborative, provide weekly on-site clinical office hours to support PBS Providers, and am on the after-hours on-call Supervisory rotation.
My experience and areas of interest include children and families, trauma, individuals with disabilities, and suicidality. Prior to therapy, I worked in the foster care system, healthcare system, and with the LGBTQIA+ population. Previously, I worked with the Center for Behavioral Health Research at the University of Central Florida where I focused on efforts of researching best practices for sucide care and the implementation of evidence-based interventions for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. In my (rare) free time, I enjoy going to Disney World and making an appearance at least one Disney Park on a biweekly basis.
I am a Behavioral Health Therapist and Assessor at Positive Behavioral Solutions since February 2021. I graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's of Social Worker in 2019 and a Master's of Social Work in 2020 from Unviersity of Texas Rio Grande Valley. At UTRGV, I focused my education in direct practice with Latino individuals, families, and groups. I have over 5 years of experience in the social service field in Central Florida with greater experience with children and families. I focus on meeting clients at their current social level when experiencing anxiety, trauma, and other related issues. Through exploration of emotions, feelings, and other possible options, I am able to assist client's work toward their personal and professional goals.
After years and two other professions, I have finally found my calling. I entered the Counseling profession in 2019 when I started my Master's Program. Since then, I graduated from Webster University with honors and acquired 2 years of experience working as a therapist with Positive Behavioral Solutions. I love helping clients with various diagnoses reach their mental health goals. I work with adolescents, families, and couples and adults using an eclectic therapeutic approach with directive and non-directive methods. I hope to aid my clients aquire a more holisitc living by understanding emotions and integrating both their analytical and emotional skills. My favorite quote is by Maya Angelo, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

My speciality is working with children and families that are experiencing stress, anxiety, trauma, and any related issues. I have an extensive background working with Christian populations and diverse communities. Most of my field experience involved providing services in the community, working with youth or post-adoption families, and guiding individuals with any traumatic life stressors that may have hindered their mental well-being.
I am a Therapist and Assessor who enjoys working with children and adults to help them overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and adjustments. My goal is to provide support, empower individuals to gain a better understanding of themselves, their behaviors, and the world around them. To help my clients achieve their unique goals, I utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, take road trips, take pictures, and cook.
I prefer face to face and in-home services. I use my school psychology experiences to best help my clients enrolled in schools in hopes of completing their education and pursuing their goals. I have been blessed with a wide range of experiences and trainings. Most recently, I am trained in DBT, FST, and ACT. I am also trained in Anger Management, Case Management, Play Therapy, CBT, Feeling Identification, Stress Reduction, Communication Skills, and Crisis Intervention. I work with all ages (2-66). My goals are to present alternatives to clients so they can be successful, happy human beings. I believe in presenting clients and their families with choices while preparing and encouraging them to accept their choices. I believe that every person is a gift from God.
I have the pleasure of working with individuals, children, teenagers, and adults who experience trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and micro-aggressions. While I am an eclectic therapist, I enjoy using Adlerian, Choice/Reality, Psychodynamic, and Attachement theories. I use a combination of directive and non-directive techniques. I believe directive methods benefit clients because hearing discrepancies between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors aloud can foster positive changes, while indirective methods help clients come to conclusions on their own, further fostering autonomy and building confidence.

I am an Assessor and MATCH Clinician. I started social services in 2015 working with birth parents to complete case plans. From there, I moved into the role of licensing foster parents before coming into my current position as a therapist with PBS. I also work part-time as a social worker for a local hospital. I enjoy doing celebrity workouts, board games, trips to the beach, and a good movie.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2014 and started my career in the field of mental health as a case manager. I went back to school and graduated from Webster University with a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I work full-time as a State Certified Wraparound Orange Specialist for Devereux Florida. In addition, I proivde part-time therapy at Socarates Preparatory School K-12.
I am a Mental Health Therapist, Educator, and Artist with a passion for helping diverse clients through individual therapy, group counseling, and creative expression. I earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master's of Social Work from University of Central Florida. After nearly a decade as an educator of the arts, I followed my lifelong dream of becoming a mental health professional.
As a counselor, I feel bringing a nurturing and non-judgmental approach when working with different situations, and encouraging strength and personal growth is important for therapeutic relationships. I believe all behavior has a purpose and finding what is motivating the behavior is how we learn to manage difficult situations. Together, we explore avenues toward personal growth and emotional healing.

I reside in St. Augustine, FL and moved from Winston-Salem, NC. I graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a Bachelor's of Social Work in 2010 and from Liberty University with a Master's of Arts in Professional Counseling. My goal is to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and to work in the community to help those in need. An important goal of mine is to network with other professionals to help identify the needs of our communities. For self-care, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my husband and family, and getting manicure and pedicures every two weeks.
