Our groups and supportive activities are open to our local community. There is no fee or requirements for attending group activities unless listed otherwise. Please feel free to bring a friend or simply be open to joining a positive support system. Love is Love is a group where teens from the  LGBTQ community can feel safe and supported. Our group meets virtual and in person. Sexual Trauma Support 6:30 PM-8:30 PM EST

Sexual trauma can have a serious impact on mental health. We hear you. We see you. While the increase in discussion around sexual assault can have positive results, it can also be scary, tiring, and painful for those personally affected. In partnership with Mental Health Association of Central Florida this free group. If you have ever experienced sexual assault, or are supporting a loved one who has, we welcome you to attend this group. It is open to all genders, ages, and backgrounds. Let’s come together as a community and support one another. You are not alone!

Lighten The Burden is an experiential workshop for adults who are stuggling with feelings of depression, hopelessness, or apathy. In this six week onlive/virtual group, you will work with the emotions associated with depression and learn tools to manage stress and adversity.

Parent Support Group 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM EST

In this group parents will learn how to engage in healthy communication styles to best meet and support their child's social/emotional well being. Parents will learn skills that can be applied at home, such as modeling appropriate behaviors, nurturing child's self-esteem, respecting differences, and problem solving.

Members of this group will be able to understand and manage their anxiety and stress. Group will realize that anxiety and stress are normal responses from the brain to keep us safe. Grief Support Group 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

In partnership with Mental Health Association of Central Florida, offering a FREE support group for our community. This support group is for adults grieving due to the loss of a loved one (family, significant other, pet, etc). We welcome you to join this support system for additional comfort, resources, and guidance. Topics covered in this group involve stress of grief, tips for coping during the holidays, and learning how to reach out for help during difficult times. The following group is a peer-led support group for the Latin (Hispanic)/Spanish Speaking community. Both English and Spanish speakers of all levels and dialects are welcome here. The purpose of this group is to create a space to talk about mental health while building friendships and a sense of support with other community members! We invite you to join us that last Tuesday of each month, 11AM-12PM at Hope CommUnity Center (800 S Hawtorne Ave., Apopka, 32703)! Event hosted by Peer Support Space,  Hope CommUnity Center, and Positive Behavioral Solutions.

ADOPTION 

COMPETENCY TRAINING

Rutgers University Adoption Competency Training Program will benefit mental health professionals, targeted case managers, child welfare staff, adoption case managers, and other community professionals who work with adoptive children and their families. We are offering this 5 day course to help professionals gain more knowledge as it relates to adoption this FALL 2022. Registration for training  dates is now open, please email Juanita Carbajal jcarbajal@pbsfl.org for further information.  Must attend all training days to receive course completion and certification. 


Registration is open to 15 applicants.

Deadline to register is November 8, 2022.
